Photos. Look. Enjoy. Shutthehellup.

I know they're shit and small but 20m is also shit and small and i'm using 80% of my allocated space so if i go over then i'm screwed and the site'll go to internet hell and burn. but fear not there's a few of them in a bit better quality on my myspace blog about Reading.

People who attended

Here at the top we have Adam hiding behind a pirate flag. I love this photo dont know why it just looks kind of arty. And me being the indie-fag that I am get excited but such things. This was his 3rd Reading, he likes Maiden

Then we have Hannah and Alex, they're cool people, Hannah's funny/scary when drunk but you know. They seemed to have fun there as did 50,000 others but we dont care about them. At all. Not even the slightest.

Here's Bryn, Lee and Joe. Bryn's been to Reading a few times before. Lee and Joe came for the first time. They had to camp next to a big pile of shit. Thats what we do to people who turn up on thursday.

Friday
  • The Black Velvets
  • Yourcodenamis:milo (partly)
  • Thirsty Merc
  • The Subways (partly)
  • We Are Scientists
  • The Coral
  • QOTSA
  • The Killers
  • Pixies

Thirsty Merc are the top picture, Subways below. Thirsty Merc sang lovely lovey love songs and were Aussis; cool band. Subways were great, wish I didnt have to leave but We Are Scientists were calling me away with their greatness

Friday cont.

We Are Scientists

They're probably my favourite band without an album out. I know that's not a great category to be put in but I love em. They perform very well as a band and their geek rock won me over a few weeks before going so I had to give them a listen. And i got a free sticker, which'll be worth something to someone somwhere some day.

Queens Of The Stone Age

Went forward for all the lovely pits and jumped around like something or other (i'm tired cant think of similies right now). Really enjoyed them, rocks my box off. See, I'm so nonconformist I dont say rocked my socks off. Arent you jealous. Yes you are.

Friday again cont.

The Killers

This was the last date on their Hot Fuss tour which has been going on since the early 80s. They're FINALLY gonna write a new album. Sweet jeus it's true. The show was good, they did what they do, just a shame the crowd were trendy bastards who stood there and did hip dancemoves. Didnt see anyone rocking out. Gaaaay.

Pixies

I was waiting all day for this and thanks to all the trendy cunts thinking 'who are the pixies, never heard of em' and walking over to watch Kasabian. I got really close and if i had strechy arms i coulda stroked Frank Blacks head. Unfortunately I dont and I didnt.

Saturday
  • All American Rejects
  • Biffy Clyro
  • Nine Black Alps (partly)
  • The Kills
  • Hot Hot Heat
  • Arcade Fire
  • Kings Of Leon
  • Foo Fighters

Arcade Fire were the best band I saw in the NME tent without any doubt at all. Maybe even over the whole weekend. They're just fantastic. They didnt need special effects and explosions to keep the audience interested. Just them running around playing instruments frantically was good enough. It wouldnt have been the same on the Mainstage. they intimacy of the NME tent suited them perfectly and they're going to be huge.

Foo Fighters were just amazingly amazing. They had lasers, they sucked up to the corwd which was nice of them. And dave drummed!! For the first time in 13 years at Reading, Dave Grohl played the drums. And he owned those drums. It was a spectacular perfomance.

Sunday
  • Alkaine Trio (partly)
  • Funeral For A Friend
  • The Rifles
  • Incubus
  • Mairlyn Manson
  • Iron Maiden

Funeral For A Friend were quite good. Didnt know most the songs as I'm not a huge fan but what they played was enjoyable. Adam got knocked out in a pit but recovered soon after. He's hardcore \m/. Grrrrrrr.

Incubus only played off Morning View and A Crow Left Of The Murder which wasnt prefered but a good set none the less. Think they finished with a Prince cover. Unusual.

Sunday cont.

Marilyn Manson

He's just one guy singing his songs basically but this perfoamcne was full of everything. He's tall, sknny, covered in make up, wearing a dress. It was clear it was gonna be good. I strangely knew all the words to pretty much all the songs (closet goth!!). He had a big screen behind him flashing words and what not, pretty lights, and him of course. I only went forward to get some pictures but the overall greatness drew me n and I didnt want to leave.

Iron Maiden

clsong the festival is a big job. You have to have someone who can put one a hell of a show to show up everyone before. This did it. A huge animatronic Eddie on stage did it for me, but others might have been wowed by Bruce Dickinson's stage presence or the guy in the Eddie suit who kept attacking the guitarist. Or the amazing guitar solos. Or the songs, all of which taken from the first four albums. Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, The Trooper, Run To The Hills and Number Of The Beast were all there. Everything you could want from a show.
